Fewer projects for a greater impact on the ground (PA 14447)
The Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO) has audited Switzerland's contribution to the enlargement of the European Union (EU), which finances almost 300 projects in the beneficiary countries. The SFAO recommends simplifying how it is organised. It would appear to be necessary to concentrate the projects in the event of a renewal. These recommendations have been accepted by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Rethinking supervision of old-age and survivors' insurance and how it is organised (PA 14260)
The SFAO examined the distribution of supervisory tasks regarding old-age and survivor's insurance (AHV). It recommends overhauling the different federal bodies and clarifying the supervisory tasks, which should be under one federal department. The Federal Department of Home Affairs and the Federal Department of Finance have agreed to examine these proposals. They could ultimately lead to the current AHV Central Compensation Office being outsourced.
