Les offices des poursuites et les offices des faillites (OPF) jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la bonne marche de l\u2019\u00e9conomie. Ils permettent aux cr\u00e9anciers de faire valoir leurs cr\u00e9ances aupr\u00e8s des d\u00e9biteurs dans le cadre d\u2019une proc\u00e9dure d\u2019encaissement par voie juridique. En 2019, environ trois millions d\u2019actes de poursuites ont \u00e9t\u00e9 notifi\u00e9s et 16 000 proc\u00e9dures de faillites ouvertes par les plus de 400 OPF op\u00e9rants en Suisse. Les cantons sont responsables de l\u2019organisation et de la surveillance des OPF. La haute surveillance sur l\u2019application uniforme de la loi sur la poursuite pour dettes et la faillite (LP) incombe \u00e0 l\u2019Office f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de la justice (OFJ).
