L\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale constitue un instrument essentiel de la m\u00e9decine moderne. Avec 2,1 milliards de francs en 2023, l\u2019imagerie repr\u00e9sentait un sixi\u00e8me du volume des prestations ambulatoires relevant de l\u2019assurance-maladie obligatoire (LAMal), avec une hausse des co\u00fbts de plus de 5 % en moyenne ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Cette consommation \u00e9lev\u00e9e est \u00e0 mettre en relation avec la densit\u00e9 par habitant en Suisse des appareils de tomodensitom\u00e9trie (CT) et des appareils \u00e0 r\u00e9sonnance magn\u00e9tique (IRM) qui est la plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e d\u2019Europe.

Le recours \u00e0 l\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale n\u2019est pratiquement pas r\u00e9gul\u00e9 par la LAMal. Le choix du recours \u00e0 l\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale est laiss\u00e9 \u00e0 la libre appr\u00e9ciation des m\u00e9decins, lesquels s\u2019orientent gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des recommandations \u00e9mises par des associations internationales de praticiens. Comme toute prestation de l\u2019assurance obligatoire des soins, l\u2019usage de l\u2019imagerie m\u00e9dicale doit toutefois respecter les principes d\u2019efficacit\u00e9, d\u2019ad\u00e9quation et d\u2019\u00e9conomicit\u00e9 (EAE). Le respect de ces principes doit \u00eatre contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par les assureurs-maladie \u00e0 partir des donn\u00e9es de facturation.

Le Contr\u00f4le f\u00e9d\u00e9ral des finances (CDF) a analys\u00e9 l\u2019emploi des principales techniques d\u2019imagerie pour des cas particuliers et tire un bilan mitig\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me d\u2019encadrement actuel. Cet environnement lib\u00e9ral d\u00e9bouche par exemple sur des diff\u00e9rences importantes, que ce soit entre m\u00e9decins pour les ultrasons de grossesse ou entre cantons pour les CT et les IRM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
