Le domaine des \u00e9coles polytechniques f\u00e9d\u00e9rales (domaine des EPF) comprend les \u00e9coles polytechniques f\u00e9d\u00e9rales de Zurich (EPFZ) et de Lausanne (EPFL) ainsi que quatre \u00e9tablissements de recherche : l\u2019Institut Paul Scherrer (PSI), l\u2019Institut f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de recherches sur la for\u00eat, la neige et le paysage (WSL), le Laboratoire f\u00e9d\u00e9ral d\u2019essai des mat\u00e9riaux et de recherche (Empa) et l\u2019Institut f\u00e9d\u00e9ral suisse des sciences et technologies de l\u2019eau (Eawag). Quelque 25 000 personnes travaillent sur 17 sites du domaine des EPF. Les d\u00e9penses annuelles totales s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8vent \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 4 milliards de francs et sont financ\u00e9es \u00e0 hauteur d\u2019environ 2,7 milliards de francs par des contributions f\u00e9d\u00e9rales. Les deux \u00e9coles polytechniques sont les principaux acteurs du domaine, dont le pilotage strat\u00e9gique est assur\u00e9 par le Conseil des EPF, qui assume \u00e9galement la surveillance de ses institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
