The Armed Forces’ global logistics concept (GK A Log) is the Swiss Armed Forces’ strategic framework for transforming its logistics into a combat-ready, decentralised and resilient deployment logistics system. It regulates stockpiling, protection, medical services, infrastructure and collaboration civil partners, to ensure that the Armed Forces can maintain operations for a longer period in an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SFAO’s main focus was on whether the global concept is sufficiently mature to allow concrete measures to be formulated across all logistics levels and trigger their implementation. It considers that, essentially, the developed concept is sufficiently mature to allow the measures derived from it to be integrated into the Defence Group’s ordinary process and developed further in that setting. The implementation of GK A Log, and hence its military benefit, depends on the Armed Forces’ overall funding and priorities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/li>\n The GS-DDPS must ensure that objectives, resources and priorities within the department are coherent and create transparency about the achievement of objectives and the use of resources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/li>\n <\/ul>\n The security strategy takes a holistic approach. The desired coherence between the strategies has not yet been fully achieved, and greater coordination is required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/li>\n The Armed Forces needs to manage their logistics processes even in times of crisis. Internal alternatives were examined, but their feasibility has not yet been confirmed.
