The study by the University of Bern (2025) warns that the transfer of tasks in the area of transparency in political financing jeopardises the SFAO’s core mission, independence, and reputation. The task would contradict INTOSAI standards, as it constitutes an executive function, and would also run counter to the will of the legislator. It is therefore recommended not to assign this task to the SFAO.
