Key facts
The peer review of the European Court of Auditors began in autumn 2023 and was carried out by a team of auditors from the Supreme Audit Institutions of Sweden, Canada and Slovenia, led by Switzerland.
Preliminary findings and recommendations were presented to the Members and Directors of the European Court of Auditors in October 2024, and a first draft of the written report was submitted at the end of January 2025.
The results of this peer review confirm the high standards applied by the European Court of Auditors, while highlighting some areas for potential improvement. A total of 14 recommendations were made.
