Competence
Centre 3, Financial Supervision and Audit
The staff of the three Financial Supervision and
Audit Competence Centres, together with Competence Centres 4 –
6, scrutinise the accounts as well as financial conduct in the
following authorities:
 | the administrative units of the central and
decentral federal administration, |
| the Parliamentary Services, and |
| recipients of financial aid and compensation. |
Audits are carried out according to the criteria
of regularity, legality and performance. In addition, this centre
fulfils the role of carrying out audits in selected mandates in
the national and international domain. A major mandate here is the
audit of the State Account.
Further duties of the staff of Competence Centres
1 - 3 are:
| supporting the Joint
Standing Committee on Finance and the Standing Committee on
Finance of the Federal Assembly, |
| the scrutinising and guaranteeing of
effectiveness of the financial inspectorates. |
| the scrutinising of purchasing activities of the
Confederation in monopoly pricing. |
